I copyedited two Pulitzer Prize finalists (I’m credited at bottom of each story):
• The Center for Investigative Reporting’s “Kept Out” investigation about modern-day redlining.
• CIR’s “All Work. No Pay” investigation on sentencing defendants to brutal work camps under the guise of drug rehab.
More recently, I edited newsletters for POLITICO. Here’s a sampling:
• California Playbook PM: “Enter the ballot billionaires.” I made this newsletter sound more authoritative.
• Morning Cyber: “Could Noem and Plankey’s departures help CISA?” I ensured that anonymous sources were cited correctly.
• New York/New Jersey Energy: “New York lawmakers tackle energy costs.” I rejiggered this one for better flow and I simplified jargon.
